With 9,000 members, the AAPI is one of the largest ethnic medical organizations in the U.S. It publishes the AAPI Journal, hosts an annual convention, and provides its members with opportunities for continuing education in both India and the U.S. The Association maintains a full-time legislative office in Washington, D.C., and sponsors a medical student exchange program with the Indian Ministry of Health. AAPI also finances a charitable foundation that maintains free clinics in India and the U.S., provides scholarships, and supports relief efforts for disaster victims.

Comprised of several smaller societies, the FCMS promotes the health of Chinese communities in North America, advancing medical knowledge and education with emphasis on aspects related to the Chinese. Founded in 1979, the ICPS is a member organization for Hispanic physicians that assists the Hispanic community through such initiatives as "Immunize our Children" and an early intervention program for people at risk for HIV infection. The college provides educational and leadership opportunities for Hispanic physicians, offers a mentorship program for Latino medical students, and sponsors programs that encourage Hispanic high school students to pursue careers in health care. Publications include Medico Inter-americano, a monthly Spanish-language journal, and the Medico de Familia, a monthly patient information magazine.

Unified by religion rather than ethnicity, IMANA promotes professional and social support by strengthening the practice of Islam. It sponsors an annual conference and continuing education, including opportunities to learn about Islamic medicine. The web site allows e-mail questions to their Ethics Committee.

An educational and charitable organization of medical professionals of Arab descent, NAAMA sponsors national and international conferences, continuing education, and two publications, Al Hakeem and NAAMA News. The Association's foundation funds medical assistance for needy Arabs in North America, educational exchanges, scholarships for students of Arab descent in the U.S. and Canada, research grants, and emergency medical aid in the Arab world.
